Meet
Chris
A native of Michigan, Chris Wagoner has always had a great passion for historic
architecture and design, always curious about space planning and putting a unique spin
on the placement of architectural elements, art, and furniture. He continues to nurture his passion to this day.
Chris began his professional career at a very young age in music videos during the
MTV era, producing and executive producing for all major labels and most of the biggest
artists of the 80’s and 90’s. He spent time living and working in both Los Angeles and New York City. After MTV had significantly reduced airing videos, Chris returned to his
true love, restoring historic buildings. He lived and worked for many years in New
York’s Hudson Valley which is home to some of the finest examples in the world. There, he oversaw the restoration of homes and other buildings and spent time working at a
Sotheby’s auction house, learning on the job about fine furniture and art.
Today, he has come home to Detroit at a pivotal time in its resurgence, distinguishing
Corktown Home as a unique, premier design firm. He is selective in the projects he
chooses to take on, ensuring his full attention to every aspect of the design process,
from construction to interior decoration and lighting.
